Why CPC

Why CPC?

CPC is an antimicrobial agent used in many oral care and oral hygiene products known for its antibacterial and germicide benefits as it can kill bacteria and viruses. It is also known to treat and prevent infections in minor oral irritations.

CPC has been shown to be effective against viruses such as influenza, rotavirus, herpes simplex virus, hepatitis B and some coronaviruses.1 The FDA has not approved this claim and further research is needed. More studies need to be conducted to show CPC’s efficacy against viruses and any upper respiratory illnesses.

Plaque and gingivitis are two common germs and bacteria that CPC is effective against, which is why it is used in mouthwashes and toothpastes.
